Dan Baring

Dan is an RAF Reserve officer with over 20 years’ service across the RAF and Army Reserves. His military experience gives him a practical understanding of the armed forces’ requirements and the workings of the MoD.

Alongside his military service, he spent 18 years managing institutional capital as a founding partner of NS Partners, an investment management firm with US$5bn under management. He previously worked in investment banking at Citi and Lazard, bringing substantial experience of investment analysis, capital allocation and financial stewardship.

Dan leads Baring Defence’s strategy, fundraising and relationships with government, the MoD, the armed forces and drone producers. He has established the company’s early defence relationships and is building the commercial partnerships and investor support needed to deliver its Swindon manufacturing facility.
